The Breitling Navitimer Caliber 01 will be released in November 2010 and available in steel (2,000 pieces) and 18 carat red gold (200 pieces) with Breitling’s first in-house movement, the COSC-certified Caliber 01. It has a 43mm case and a transparent case back, showcasing the watch’s movement. The dial features red numbers for date display and a red hand chronograph second hand. Each timepiece is individually numbered on the middle case at 9 o’clock.
The Navitimer was first introduced in 1952 with its defining feature being a circular slide rule, making it popular with pilots and aviation enthusiasts. The “Cosmonaute” version was the first space-going wrist chronograph (accompanying Scott Carpenter on his flight aboard the Aurora 7 capsule in 1962). Breitling also claims that the Navitimer is the world’s oldest mechanical chronograph still in production.
Breitling timepieces are available at King Jewelers in Nashville, TN and Aventura, FL. For more information, please visit www.breitling.com and www.kings1912.com.
