Avril Lavigne Shows Off 14 Carat Engagement Ring

The only surprise bigger than the news of Avril Lavigne’s engagement to Chad Kroeger is her rock. She is now proudly flashing around her 14 carat pear-shaped diamond engagement ring. Chad Kroeger of Nickelback and Avril met while working on her fifth album in February. During their intense studio sessions working together Chad recollects and states he knew he was falling for her and that it was incredibly powerful and something he’ll never forget. Chad had picked out the beautiful engagement ring on the last day they recorded together and popped the question on August 8th.

This 14-carat engagement ring that she received is actually 10 carats larger than her ring from her previous marriage to Sum 41 singer, Deryck Whibley. While a ring of this size would look enormous on any finger, Avril is a petite 5’ 1” and this rock takes over her entire hand. Her engagement ring is roughly estimated to be worth $350,000. Lets hope it’s insured.

The two have kept their romance on a quiet level and haven’t been seen together other than in-studio shots and a few pictures on a lunch date in Paris back in May. Even shortly after the announcement of the new she showed up to the red carpet alone without wearing her new ring. According to a friend of theirs, they have not set a date yet and are really just enjoying this moment together.
