Jaeger-LeCoultre Presents Limited Edition Mad Men Reverso Watch

What’s not to like about Mad Men? The rigorously retro set design, the sophisticated attire, the 1960s politics, the ability to drink scotch at ten in the morning . . . these are just some of the aspects that have attributed to the increasing popularity of the award-winning show. In tribute to the show, Jaeger-LeCoultre is going to release a limited edition of its ever classic Reverso watch inscribed with the “Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce” logo on the back in February.

This is not Jaeger-LeCoultre’s first foray into the Mad Men universe. The lead character Don Draper (played by John Hamm) has been seen sporting a sterling silver or gold Reverso throughout the series. Jaeger-LeCoultre watches have a longstanding tradition of withdrawing inspiration from their roots. The thin Reverso watch has a streamlined elegance and subtly curved shape that allows it to maintain an Art Deco feel with a modern twist. Jaeger-LeCoultre is also a fan of renovating the past, as seen in their 2011 re-releases of the 1959 Tribute to the Deep Sea Memovox and the Tribute to 1931 Grande Reverso Ultra-Thin. The Reverso has remained popular with both men and women due to its slim and flexible design.

The Mad Men inspired Reverso in particular will be a sterling silver Grande Reverso Ultra-Thin hand-wound single-movement watch with a black alligator leather strap. There will be a total of 25 individually numbered pieces presented in a commemorative custom-designed walnut box. The watch is also accompanied by a personalized letter from the Mad Men character Roger Sterling as well as a fictional memoir of Roger Sterling signed by the executive producer of the show, Matthew Weiner. The price of this watch has not yet been announced.
