Jaeger-LeCoultre’s New Duometre a Quantieme Lunaire Watch

Jaeger-LeCoultre has announced that they are going to be release a limited edition of the Duometre a Quantieme Lunaire Watch. This watch is immediately appealing due to its elegant design but the real innovation behind this watch is in its unique dual-wing movement, characteristic of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Duometre collection. This movement has two different power supplies, one for the timing and the other for the time display. This enables Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Duometre to retain accuracy with a complicated movement.

This watch has a jumping seconds feature that shows 1/16th of a second increments driven by the escapement. The date and moon phase features are actually contained within a separate sub-dial on a matte black surface. The moon phase function shows the moon phase for both the Southern and Northern Hemispheres. The dual-wing movement ensures that all of these aspects work together in perfect harmony, with one half of the caliber for constant power supply and the other to move the features. This extraordinary movement is visible through the transparent sapphire crystal case back.
