2019 SIHH Girard-Perregaux Watch Releases

In honor of day two of the SIHH watch fair, taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, King Jewelers would like to highlight five new releases from legendary brand, Girard-Perregaux. This company has been designing luxury watches for over 227 years, dating back to 1791. Achieving horological perfection both technically, as well as aesthetically, has been the ultimate goal. Consequently, Girard-Perregaux has taken their innovative creations to the next level.

Laureato Perpetual Calendar

To begin, the first release that caught our attention is the Laureato Perpetual Calendar 81035-11-431-11A. This all stainless steel masterpiece is presented with a muted blue, textured signature clous de Paris dial. In addition, the octogonal bezel bestows this timepiece with an industrial sophistication. However, the feature that sets this watch apart from the rest of the Laureato collection, is the perpetual calendar movement. To illustrate, the date is found in a subdial between one and two o’clock, the day of the week is at nine o’clock, and the leap year indicator is resting among a disc window, displaying the months. Comparatively, the lack of symmetry in this piece creates a contemporary aesthetic that has watch enthusiasts intrigued.

Next, of the new Girard-Perregaux releases of 2019 is the ladies Cat’s Eye Celestial Adventurine 80496D52A451-CK4A. This piece, at first glance, is absolutely breathtaking. Resting on a midnight blue alligator strap, the celestial diamond details on the dial create the illusion of being in space. Not to mention, this east-west style timepiece reveals a diamond-encrusted bezel against high-polished pink-gold. Also, moon phase complication featured in this watch blends an elegant philosophy of beauty with a mechanical advancement. Correspondingly, the moon is created from mother-of-pearl, while the pointillist-style star details surrounding it appear almost seamless. Each hourly index utilizes round diamonds to complement the elegance of this timepiece even further.

For those who covet a more sporty look, Girard-Perreaux introduces the Laureato Absolute Chronograph 81060-21-491-FH6A. Certainly highlighting the inner strengths of the original version, this timepiece is crafted with an unwavering masterwork. Additionally, the PVD-treated titanium casing contrasting the sun ray blue dial creates a stunning masculinity. Stemming from a similarly comprehensive approach, this watch showcases contemporary and rugged details. Resting on a black rubber strap, three chronograph subdials rest at three o’clock, six o’clock, and nine o’clock. Furthermore, a date window resides between four and five o’clock, which further enhances the functionality of this timepiece. 1966 “Earth to Sky Edition”

Lastly, we would like to present the Giard-Perregaux 1966 “Earth to Sky Edition.” The blue sunray dial represents the earth, while the DLC-treated case symbolizes the night sky. Likewise, a black alligator strap with rubber coating leads us to this 1960’s-inspired luxury timepiece. This contemporary and innovative approach to a brand classic was, above all, reinvented for a 149 million-kilometer journey from the earth to the sky. Sleek and slim indexes also keep this piece looking modern and simple, giving it a significant amount of versatility. At three o’clock, we discover a date window and at twelve o’clock, the iconic Girard-Perregaux 1791 symbol. As a result, the chronometry advances featured in this watch were crowned by the Neuchatel Observatory Centenary Prize.
