The New TUDOR North Flag

Warm Up Your Wrist With The TUDOR North Flag

Today it’s cloudy and cold here at our luxury salon in Nashville, Tennessee and it has us thinking about one of the latest new additions to the already impressive TUDOR lineup. TUDOR, as you may know, is the sister brand to Rolex; their timepieces are made with the same top-quality materials and perfection-seeking craftsmanship that Rolex is known for, but at a much more affordable price point.

Not too long ago, TUDOR introduced the North Flag timepiece.  This sporty watch is meant for an adventurer who needs to be able to count on the fact that his timepiece will be in perfect working order at any given time. The North Flag seems to have at least been somewhat inspired by the TUDOR Oyster Prince, which was worn by all the party members of the British North Greenland Expedition of the early 1950s. As members of that expedition relied heavily on their timepieces to survive the harsh wilderness, TUDOR understands the importance of creating a reliable tool watch. While it’s unlikely that you’ll find yourself in those same extreme conditions, the North Flag timepiece aims reassure the wearer that should the worst arise, your watch will continue to exceed your expectations.

The North Flag is available in two variations- steel on a black leather strap and steel on a steel bracelet. The leather model features yellow stitching along the strap, a subtle but striking complement to the yellow power reserve and seconds hand on the dial. At 40mm, the case is large but not uncomfortably so. It features a black dial with luminescent white indicators, 12 and 6 numerals, and hands for easy visibility. A power reserve indicator is featured at the 9 o’clock position, with a date display window opposite at the 3 o’clock position. It is covered by an anti-reflective, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and has a screw down crown for increased water resistance.

The North Flag has the distinction of being one of the first TUDOR models to be fitted with the Manufacture TUDOR MT5621 Movement. This movement was the first to be developed and produced by the brand and it is visible through the sapphire crystal case back.It is a self-winding mechanical movement with a bidirectional rotor system which has been officially certified by the COSC. It has a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour (4 Hz), is 33.8mm in diameter, 6.5mm thick, 28 jewels, and has a 70 hour power reserve. You can learn more about North Flag timepiece and TUDOR’s MT5621 movement by visiting their official website. You can schedule an appointment to view the North Flag in person and try it on for yourself by calling our Nashville salon at 615-724-5464
