When it comes to diamonds, for some individuals less is more. But for our top five diamond watches we’re going to recognize the brands who said the more bling the better! All of these watches are a sight to behold with unimaginable amounts of sparkle that will undoubtedly make a statement wherever the wearer goes.
1) Hublot 5 Million Dollar Big Bang WatchHublot has long been known as a brand that pushes the edges of innovation and development, as seen in their recent release of the Antikythera watch at this year’s Baselworld. However, they also released another watch that caused a considerable amount of buzz. The 5 Million Dollar Big Bang watch is in the style of Hublot’s iconic Big Bang series but with every conceivable surface drowning in diamonds, and not just any diamonds either. All 1282 diamonds (totaling 140 carats) were gathered from all over the world and matched for superior color and clarity. These diamonds were painstakingly selected and adhered to the watch in an invisible setting, a process that required a team of 17 people working for 14 months. If you have an Elizabeth Taylor-like devotion to diamonds, then this is the watch for you.
2) Chopard Imperiale Tourbillion Full Set Diamond WatchChopard released a new edition to the Imperiale collection at Baselworld as well, also covered tip-to-tip in diamonds. This beautiful piece was designed to be the perfect combination between a timepiece and a piece of jewelry. The dial features a splendid array of diamonds with a snow-type setting with additional baguette diamonds lining the bezel and strap. Despite its breathtaking exterior, this watch also boasts a tourbillion complication that is certified by the COSC and has a power reserve indicator of purple amethyst.
3) Hublot Black Caviar Bang WatchHublot’s 1 Million Dollar Black Caviar Bang is the dark older sister of the 5 Million Dollar Bang released earlier this year. The Black Caviar Bang sports an 18 karat white gold case studded with rare, baguette black diamonds for a total of 34.5 carats. Besides the classy black diamonds, this watch also features a tourbillion complication and a power-reserve indicator. Like the diamonds it is made of, the Hublot Black Caviar Bang watch is a rare piece with only one edition ever created.
4) Harry Winston Rosebud Diamond WatchHarry Winston has a long history of being one of the most prestigious jewelers in the world. So it comes as no surprise that Harry Winston’s timepieces have the moniker of “Jewels That Tell Time.” This exquisite Rosebud watch is no exception. The watch case is set with a dazzling array of round, pear, and baguette cut diamonds for a total of 6.9 carats in a beautiful floral motif. The watch case separates from the band so that the timepiece can double as a pendant or a brooch.
5) Cartier Delices de Cartier Diamond Watch, Small ModelSince its debut, Cartier’s Delices collection brings an unstated elegance to watch design. The case has delicate curves with an off-set oval-shaped dial. The fluid movement of the case is enhanced by a pave setting of round-cut white diamonds that transition into a pave diamond bracelet. This watch may be covered in diamonds, and yet it doesn’t seem ostentatious.
