A Glimpse Inside Father’s Day in the King’s Family

Dad, papa, padre, father, baba: in each language, this word has the same meaning around the world.

For many, their fathers have had a significant impact on their outlook and perspective on life. They taught them values, the difference between right and wrong, and how to treat others. For others, their dads played another role: they inspired their business practices. For the King family, this inspiration has been taking place for the last 5 generations.

“Each one of the boys has their own separate talents. David opened the King’s second jewelry store in Nashville while Jono took the Direction of Sales position in our Miami Location” says King Jeweler’s CEO and King family patriarch Scott King.

With Father’s Day just around the corner, we asked Scott, David, and Jono King to discuss their favorite memories of their dad.

“Besides sitting around the table telling funny stories,” Scott reminisces “…we loved our boating adventures to Fisher Islands, Ocean Reefs & The Bahamas.” He laughs and adds “We would just laugh while fishing off our dinghy.”

“I know the memories that I make with my children will be cherished, as I cherish the memories I made with my parents.” says Jono. “The success of a family business is in the family. The joy is in the family.”

Both Jono & David are passionate about watches, an appreciation they learned from their father. Scott remembers that his first watch was an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, a timepiece he still enjoys wearing today.

“I taught my boys, respect, honesty, integrity and not to judge others; to be happy within your own skin” said Scott. This coming Father’s Day holiday is a reminder of the legacy that a father can create with his sons.
