New in Nashville: Oris Watches

A new line of Oris watches arrived in our Green Hills showroom just in time for the Nashville Watch Fair. The brand offers luxury Swiss timepieces for men and women at affordable price points, with most of the models we carry priced at less than $3,000. 

History & Philosophy

Oris, based in Holstein, Switzerland, is one of the few independent Swiss watchmakers. It was founded by watchmakers Paul Cattin and Georges Christian in 1904. Oris is named after a local brook in Holstein and the name itself means stream. The philosophy of the brand is “Things must make sense.” Being an independent watch brand, Oris prides itself on defining its own path. In the 1930s Swiss law prevented Oris from using lever escapements. This did not make sense to the brand, so they hired a legal team to change the law and succeeded in 1966. The Oris Diver Sixty-Five watch takes inspiration from Oris’s 1965 diver’s watches. The watches have a vintage look while utilizing modern-day technology.
