Yeprem Information and FAQ
About Yeprem Jewelry
Yeprem is an independent fine jewellery house founded in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1964 by Yeprem Chakardemian, who began in a personal workshop and built the business over four decades. It is now run by the second generation: creative director Virna Chakardemian designs, alongside her brothers Loutfic and John.
The house is built around the marquise cut. Where the marquise is usually a classical stone, Yeprem uses it as the structural line of contemporary designs, and it recurs across almost every collection. The other signature is form: pieces are designed to follow the curves of the body rather than sit on it, which is how the brand arrived at the multi-wearable hand jewellery and ear cuffs it is best known for. The Claw, introduced in 2013, is its most recognised piece.
Everything is handcrafted, and the house states that no two pieces come out identical. The more complex articulated designs are adjusted individually to the wearer. King Jewelers carries Golden Strada, Black Strada, Whisper, Y-Not, Leathership and Y-Conic alongside the high jewellery lines Reign Supreme and Y-Couture, in 18K white, yellow and two-tone gold.
History of Yeprem
A workshop in Beirut, 1964. Yeprem Chakardemian founded the house in Beirut and spent roughly four decades working as a wholesaler, self-taught, selecting the diamonds himself. The name stayed within the trade for most of that time rather than on a storefront.
The second generation. Virna Chakardemian and her brothers Loutfic and John joined the family business and took it international, moving it from a wholesale operation into a named house sold through multi-brand luxury retailers. Virna, trained in interior design, jewellery design and gemology, became creative director.
The Claw and the hand pieces. The Claw arrived in 2013 and became the brand's signature: articulated hand jewellery that reads as sculpture rather than a ring. Ear cuffs followed the same logic. These pieces are what put Yeprem on red carpets and into the collections of buyers who already own the classics and want something that is not one.
Today. The house works almost exclusively in 18K gold and diamonds, with coloured centre stones -- sapphire, emerald, tanzanite -- reserved for the high jewellery lines. It remains independent and family-run.
Yeprem Collections
Golden Strada: The warm-metal line, in yellow and two-tone gold. Fluid ribbons of pave set with round and marquise diamonds, across bangles, crossover rings and earrings. The most wearable of the collections and the easiest to stack.
Black Strada: The same architecture rendered in black and white diamonds on 18K white gold, for a harder-edged read.
Reign Supreme: A high jewellery line built around a single coloured centre stone -- blue sapphire or emerald -- surrounded by mixed-cut diamonds. The pieces King Jewelers carries run from stackable bands to statement rings and bangles.
Y-Couture: The most elaborate of the high jewellery lines, where the diamond work becomes the structure of the piece rather than a decoration on it.
Whisper: Ear cuffs. Round and marquise diamonds in 18K white gold, designed to curve along the ear without a piercing.
Y-Not and Y-Conic: Geometric, mixed-shape diamond work -- rings, earrings and hand jewellery with an architectural line.
Leathership: Diamonds set against leather. Wrap bracelets in black or coloured leather with 18K white gold and diamond stations, and in some pieces a coloured stone such as tanzanite.
