Collection: AWAKE

AWAKE is an independent French watch brand co-founded by Lilian Thibault, a Paris-based veteran of the watch industry. The brand's purpose is in its name: to raise awareness of the Earth's beauty and its vulnerability through the objects it makes, using traditional craft and lower-impact materials in place of industrial processes wherever it can.

Its signature today is the Son Mai collection, built around dials made in Sơn Mài, the traditional Vietnamese art of sanded lacquer. Natural lacquer, pigment and pure metal leaf are layered and sanded back by hand, so every dial carries the depth and variation of handwork. Behind the dial sits a Swiss La Joux-Perret automatic movement with a 68-hour power reserve, visible through a sapphire caseback.

King Jewelers carries the AWAKE Son Mai Frosted Leaf in four versions at our Nashville showroom: the limited-edition Royal Blue in pure gold leaf, and the Storm, Blood Moon and Lagoon in pure silver leaf.

A brand built on awareness. AWAKE was co-founded by Lilian Thibault, who spent around 15 years in the watch industry before setting out to rethink how watches are made. Early collections focused on materials from circular and regenerative processes, including recycled titanium cases on the TIME TRAVELERS line and La Bleue, made with material from recycled fishing nets. The Mission to Earth series launched in June 2022.

The turn to Son Mai. In 2024 AWAKE introduced the Son Mai collection, its first permanent range, built around dials made in traditional Vietnamese sanded lacquer and pure silver leaf. The launch came with a new identity: an all-caps logotype and a logomark representing air, earth, water and fire, set into the crowns.

Frosted Leaf. The Son Mai Frosted Leaf followed in 2025 as a series of limited editions in silver leaf. In 2026 AWAKE added the Royal Blue, its first Frosted Leaf in pure gold leaf, limited to 200 pieces, and three permanent 38mm models, Storm, Blood Moon and Lagoon, each inspired by a natural phenomenon and made at around 100 pieces a year. The 2026 watches also introduced AWAKE's new handwritten logo.

Son Mai Frosted Leaf Royal Blue: A limited edition of 200 pieces. The Son Mai lacquer dial is gilded in pure gold leaf and finished in lighter blues for a frosted look, set in a 38mm steel case with a domed sapphire crystal and a blue Alcantara strap by Jean Rousseau. $3,350.

Son Mai Frosted Leaf Storm, Blood Moon and Lagoon: Three permanent-collection colorways in pure silver leaf: black and orange, deep red and black, and layered blue and green. Each has a 38mm steel case, the La Joux-Perret G101 automatic with a 68-hour power reserve, 100 meters of water resistance and a matching Maison Bouveret nubuck calfskin strap. $3,190.

AWAKE watches are covered by the manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Accidental damage, normal wear, and repairs by unauthorized service centers are not covered, and straps are wear items.
