    History of Temple St. Clair

Temple St. Clair established her jewelry company in Florence, Italy in 1986. She worked closely with some of the most skillful goldsmiths in the world. Within that first year, Temple St. Clair became the first designer jeweler to be incorporated by Barneys New York. Temple explains that she has the eye of an artist and the heart of an explorer. This blend of qualities is the perfect recipe for storytelling through jewelry making. St. Clair’s most coveted trends are comprised of rare gemstones with whimsical gold work that illustrates an all-inclusive narrative of the universe.

Temple’s Fine Jewelry collection is most-commonly identified by her signature rock crystal amulets, triple granulation technique, and archer’s granule designs. These brand elements serve as a symbol of the designer’s quintessential principles.

Temple St. Clair’s High Jewellery line showcases an impressive array of precious gemstones paired with intricate goldwork rooted in a neverending pursuit for the rarest stones in the world. Some of these findings included dynamic blue Brazilian Paraiba Tourmaline, incandescent African Tsavorite, generously patterned Lightning Ridge Australian Black Opal, and her beloved Royal Blue Moonstone.

St. Clair’s Haute Couture Jewellery collection celebrates artistry at its most premium level. Unwavering in her selection of the highest quality materials and techniques, Temple discovers concepts that align directly with her internal fascination with wonder and adventure. Some of her pieces, such as the first chapter of Mythical Creatures from The Golden Menagerie trilogy, was featured in the Louvre Museum in Paris in 2015. The following chapters were debuted in other international artistry showcases.

Temple St. Clair graduated from Smith College with her Bachelor’s degree in Italian Studies and later earned her Master’s in Italian Renaissance Literature from Middlebury College. She went on to earn several prestigious awards for her jewelry and has had her works featured in numerous highly-respected publications, conferences, and museums all over the world.

Today, Temple St. Clair’s Jewels remain cherished by loyal admirers and can be purchased throughout Europe, Japan, and North America. Explore King Jeweler’s vast selection of these stunning masterpieces in our Nashville store, or visit us online to receive free shipping on your order!

Rock Crystal Amulets: As one of the earliest forms of human ornamentation and self-expression, Temple’s amulets serve as an eclectic extension of those who wear it.

Angels: Temple believes that every person could use a guardian angel and modeled this collection after the cherubs seen in the Sistine Madonna by Renaissance artist Raphael.

Color Theory: This collection takes a deep dive into the research surrounding the human connection to colors and pigments while she experiments with unusual gem pairings.

Celestial: This collection serves as a unique and colorful translation of Temple St. Clair’s enchantment with all things relating to cosmos and the universe.

Tree of Life:  Temple dedicated this line to the wondrous connection between all living things on this earth; from the land and air, all the way to the bottom of the sea.

Royal Blue Moonstone: As a part of the feldspar mineral family, this precious stone was popular in the mid-1900’s and radiates an enthralling deep blue glow. Unlike traditional moonstone, Temple was drawn to this gem in a spiritual way.

Zodiac: Temple also has a fascination with astrology, so she created individual pendants for each constellation that includes a trio of diamonds on the back.

Nature Deconstructed:  Nature is a consistent source of inspiration for Temple St. Clair and this collection focuses on the symmetry and asymmetry found all throughout different parts of nature.
