Sylvie's story begins with two separate journeys that eventually became one. Ian Levine immigrated to the United States from South Africa and, in 1987, founded Spectrum Diamonds, building decades of expertise as a jewelry manufacturer and diamond merchant. Meanwhile, Sylvie was growing up in Antwerp, Belgium — the historic center of the world's diamond trade — as a third-generation diamond master, immersed in the craft from childhood. The two met in Tel Aviv, Israel, through mutual friends at a wedding, and their relationship grew across continents before Ian proposed to Sylvie on a beach in Tel Aviv. Sylvie later joined Ian's company, where she began developing a bridal jewelry line of her own. In 2007, that work became Sylvie, a brand built around a simple but pointed idea: bridal jewelry designed by a woman, for a woman, in an industry historically dominated by male designers. The brand grew steadily from its Dallas, Texas headquarters, becoming known for romantic design details and deep customization options, and in 2022 celebrated its 15th anniversary with a brand evolution centered on its signature "shell" ring silhouette. Today, Sylvie remains a family business, with the couple's sons, Gary and Steve Levine, now leading the company's next chapter while staying rooted in the founders' original love story.
