About the Beaubleu Ecce Figura

The Figura case is square, 30mm across and 39mm from top to bottom, in 316L stainless steel finished in an alternating play of polished and brushed surfaces, or coated in gold PVD. At 8.6mm it is the thinnest watch Beaubleu makes. The crystal is concave sapphire, stepping down into the dial rather than sitting flat over it, and the caseback is open.

The dial is the collection's idea: worked like a wax seal, with the design pressed into the surface rather than printed onto it. Beaubleu's two circular hands turn above it. Underneath is the Miyota 9015 Slim automatic with a 42-hour power reserve. Straps are 18mm and interchangeable without tools, in grained leather or a steel mesh bracelet. Water resistance is 30 meters.

History of the Beaubleu Ecce Figura

The Figura followed the round Ecce as Beaubleu's second permanent line, and answers a question the first one left open: whether hands built from circles would still read cleanly inside a square. They do - the corners give the two rings somewhere to travel that a round dial does not, and the effect is closer to a piece of jewellery than a conventional watch.
