The Sartory-Billard SB10 Jumping Hour Black Sapphire does away with a dial altogether: a smoked black sapphire cabochon is mounted into the 39.5mm stainless steel case from the outside, and the time is read off two sapphire discs turning beneath it. The hour disc jumps 30° on the hour to bring the next numeral into a wide aperture at six o'clock, while the minute disc sweeps once an hour around the cabochon against a Super-LumiNova ring marked in red. The enlarged numerals were drawn by typographer Simon Schmidt. Inside is a Swiss-made La Joux-Perret automatic fitted with Sartory-Billard's patented jumping hour module, with a 55-hour power reserve. The case alternates brushed and polished surfaces, stands 11.5mm thick and 44mm lug to lug, and carries 80 meters of water resistance on a Sartory-Billard rubber strap.
